I have also spent years living in Latin America, I was even born there! And, in my time, I have met plenty of people that like and support Latinx. Much like your experience, I'm sure that has something to do with the groups I choose to socialise with.

Secondly, I'm not griping about anything at all. In fact, if you would have read the article without whatever preconceived notions you clicked on it with, you would see that this was me saying 'here's a term, here's why people like it, here's why people don't like it, but, if you choose to use it, use it correctly. That's it.

Lastly, calling LGBTQ and other progressive groups 'radical' seems a bit outdated, and well, radical of you. Nobody is making you use Latinx but you will most likely be seeing it a lot more, so get real and find something else to gripe about.
